On October 28, 2014, we launched the all-new ProFellow during the Away From Stanford Fair, following our fellowships presentation hosted by Stanford University’s Haas Center for Public Service. The new site features an upgraded fellowships database of more than 600 professional and academic fellowships, editorials and interviews with former fellows, and ProFellow’s Step-by-Step Guide For a Competitive Fellowship Application. Some of the new features of the ProFellow database include keyword search, filters by type, discipline, work experience, and location, and the ability to share fellowship listings via email and social media. With more than 13,000 active users, ProFellow is known internationally as the go-to source for information on professional and academic fellowships. The site was created and is supported by current and former fellows, including ProFellow’s International Fellows Network of more than 1,000 fellowship alumni from a wide range of fellowship programs globally.

The new site launch was the finale of ProFellow’s 6th University Seminar Tour. This Fall, we visited San Francisco Bay Area universities, including UC Berkeley, Presidio Graduate School, Mills College and Stanford. We spoke with students and alumni on “How to Find and Win Competitive and Academic Fellowships,” focusing on how to prepare compelling personal essays and project proposals, attain high-quality recommendation letters and make a good impression in individual and group interviews. We also gave an overview of a wide range of professional and academic fellowship opportunities, such as the Robert Bosch Fellowship in Germany for young leaders administered by Cultural Vistas and the Herbert Scoville Jr. Peace Fellowship in Washington, DC for recent graduates interested in peace and security policy.

We’d love your feedback on the new site and fellowships database! Please contact us for information on the new site, promotional opportunities for fellowship organizations, and membership in our International Fellows Network.
