Photo 1: The 2019-2020 Fellows gather for our Midpoint Conference. Midpoint was great for many reasons – it offered time to relax and bond with co-fellows, participate in trainings on creativity, gender-sensitivity, MEL, human-centered design thinking, and other professional development, and even explore Delhi! (I’m pictured 4th from the left, back row).

Photo 2: Another photo from Midpoint in chilly Delhi after a “Secret Santa” gift exchange. Fellows are from both the US and India, which presented really unique opportunities for us to learn from one another. We were placed with organizations pan-India and usually quite spread out, so our gifts represented cultures and traditions from all over! (I’m in the first row, center).

Photo 3: This photo was taken at a Yuwa life skills workshop with girls ages 8-12. The facilitator, Sunita, age 21 (in the red hoodie) is leading a session on puberty, but before the workshop begins the girls collect and record savings for their football team’s equipment expenses (picuted). Each week participants contribute INR 10 so that they can purchase footballs, socks, cleats and cones from Yuwa. Once the workshop started, Sunita asked her players to draw a girl and boy and label their body parts. There were many giggles, and Sunita told me she thought it would take a few weeks for everyone to become comfortable with the topic before starting more serious conversations on menstruation, family planning and GBV (Photo used with permission from Sunita).
