Sponsored by the Shafik Gabr Foundation
The Gabr Fellowship is an initiative of the Shafik Gabr Foundation, designed to promote intercultural dialogue and collaboration between the East and West, with a focus on the US-Egypt relationship. In an increasingly interconnected world, cross-cultural understanding and professional networks are essential for peace and progress.
The Gabr Fellowship is for emerging leaders in the areas of art, science, finance, tech, business, media, law, and both social and business entrepreneurship. Applicants should have big ideas and a strong interest in transnational dialogue. All applicants must be 24 to 35 years of age and must be citizens of the United States, Egypt, the United Kingdom, France, Lebanon, or Jordan.
Each year the Gabr Fellowship consists of 20-24 Fellows, representing various industries and working in the fields of the arts, sciences, law, media, government, business, and entrepreneurship— both business and social.
During the course of the exchange, Fellows engage with high-level business leaders, members of the media, government officials, scientists, and academics. Fellows will have the chance to meet with representatives from the United Nations, the Arab League, the Egyptian Parliament, the World Bank, the White House, Congress, Morgan Stanley, Google, and more.
The 2018 program will take place between August 31st and September 9th in Egypt, and between September 30th and October 7th in the United States.
