LeadNext: Ambassadors for a Global Future takes a bold new approach to leadership development. We train people-centered leaders with the ability to work across disciplines, navigate complexity, and operate cross-culturally. The program supports fellows in better understanding our global times and how effective changemakers must work across differences and lead from their authentic selves.
LeadNext is focused on building “transformative” leaders who inspire change. LeadNext provides a rigorous curriculum and an intense, shared experience that gives fellows a framework for 21st-century leadership grounded in global citizenship, empathy, and self-awareness.
The six-month program equips emerging leaders across cultures and disciplines with strong international networks and leadership tools to thoughtfully steer the future.

LeadNext Fellows are dynamic emerging leaders aged 18-25 from any field with a commitment to building a better world.
Program
Leadership Training Intensive (Feb-Mar 2025) – Virtual
- Develop tools and leadership competencies focused on how effective changemakers lead from their authentic selves
- Interactive team building, knowledge sharing, and skills-building
- Fellows share backgrounds, projects, and passions
Monthly Masterclasses (Mar-July 2025) – Virtual
- Access to real-world experts in the U.S. and Asia addressing a range of issues
- Exposure to policies and ecosystems that drive impact and bring collective experiences to bear on discussions
Global Leaders Summit (Week Of July 13, 2025) – In-Person
- Capstone convening in the San Francisco Bay Area
- Deepen learning at a leadership retreat, study tour, and through rigorous exchange
Mentorship
- Fellows paired with a mentor from our network of recognized leaders, influencers, and shapers
Eligibility
LeadNext Fellows demonstrate outstanding character, and integrity, and are respected leaders within their communities with an interest in cross-cultural exchange. Fellows demonstrate an interest in learning to lead through empathy and self-awareness.
Candidates must be:
- Aged 18-25 years old when the program starts
- Fully conversant in English
- Able to commit to attending ALL sessions with an understanding we are working across many time zones. Virtual sessions will take place in the mornings in Asia and evenings in the U.S. for approximately 2 hours per session.
- Excellent listeners, show humility and can collaborate sensitively across cultures
- Applicants from the U.S. include U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and DACA recipients
- Candidates from the Asia-Pacific must come from one of the following countries: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Bhutan, Pacific Islands nations, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam.
Program Benefits
Participation in the program is fully-funded and includes:
- International or domestic airfare
- All costs associated with the Global Leaders Summit including lodging, airfare, meals, incidentals allowance, airport transfers, and visa fees if applicable
