Sponsored by IHS
Each summer, the Institute for Humane Studies brings talented students and professors together to explore and discuss the ideas behind a free and flourishing society through its annual advanced graduate seminar.
If you are interested in contributing to the conversation, we invite you to apply to this year’s seminar, Advanced Studies: The Challenges and Future of Liberty on June 10–16, 2017 at Bryn Mawr College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. IHS will cover the cost of tuition, housing, meals, and books for accepted applicants.
Through lectures from distinguished speakers and Socratic discussions based around a set of texts, you’ll be challenged to assess your own arguments and research from the perspective of multiple disciplines. You will also learn about additional support IHS offers graduate students, including mentorship, funding, and research colloquia.
How to Apply
All prospective attendees must fill out an application to demonstrate how their own research interests relate to the topics being discussed over the course of the seminar.
The deadline for applications is April 12, 2017.
We will review applications on a rolling basis. To learn more about and apply to the seminar, please visit our website.
Cost to Attend
IHS will cover all expenses related to attending the seminar, with the exception of personal travel to and from the seminar.
A limited number of travel scholarships are available to accepted students.
