- Center for Health Journalism National Fellowship: The annual National Fellowship is open to professional journalists who work for or contribute to print, broadcast, and online media outlets throughout the United States, including freelancers. Applicants should have a demonstrated interest in health, social welfare, or child and family issues, broadly defined to include the health of communities. The National Fellowship annually offers five days of informative and stimulating discussions, plus reporting grants of $2,000-$10,000, engagement grants of up to $2,000, and six months of expert mentoring as Fellows work on ambitious explanatory or investigative projects. / Apply by May 28, 2023
- Western Theological Seminary Fully Funded Master’s in Theology: Western Theological Seminary based in Holland, Michigan offers a fully funded master’s in Theology. If you are a ministry leader, writer, teacher, or someone who wants to learn more about theology and ministry and why it matters, the Masters of Arts program at Western Theological Seminary is for you. They also offer Master of Divinity and Master of Theology programs. 90% of students receive awards! At Western Theological Seminary, whether you are full-time or part-time, you are eligible for financial awards to help ease the burden. - Bicentennial Swedish-American Exchange Fund: The Bicentennial Fund awards grants up to SEK 30,000 in support of intensive research trips to Sweden of 2-4 weeks in length. Applicants should have well-developed projects within the prioritized fields of politics, public administration, working life, human environment, mass media, business and industry, education, or culture. The grant is specifically intended for professional enrichment and is thus not applicable to work related to academic degrees, programs, or conferences. - Distinguished Staff Fellowship Program: The ORNL Distinguished Staff Fellowships are 3-year appointments awarded to outstanding early-career scientists and engineers with demonstrated success within their academic, professional, and technical areas, who have high potential to be future science leaders. These highly competitive fellowships are available across a variety of research disciplines, including biology and the environment, clean energy, fusion and fission, isotope science, materials science, national security, neutron science, and supercomputing. Applicants must have received their PhD in a STEM field within the last 5 years. There are three application cycles per year. / Apply by May 31, 2023
- AICPA Fellowship for Minority Doctoral Students: The AICPA Fellowship for Minority Doctoral Students ensures that CPAs of diverse backgrounds are visible in college and university classrooms. The program’s goal is to increase the number of minority CPAs who serve as role models and mentors to young people in the academic environment. The AICPA Foundation awards annual fellowships of $12,000 to full-time minority accounting scholars who demonstrate significant potential to become accounting educators. Eligible applicants must have a CPA or plan to pursue the CPA credential and be a minority student of Black or African American; Hispanic or Latino; or Native American ethnicity. / Apply by May 31, 2023
- Institute of Current World Affairs Fellowship: The ICWA fellowship program aims to nurture deep expertise in foreign countries and cultures by supporting a Fellow who carries out a program of self-designed, independent study abroad for a minimum of two years. We look for candidates who are sufficiently prepared to take advantage of the opportunity we offer. Fellowships are aimed at developing knowledge and professional skills, not awarding research or reporting opportunities to those who already have them. We expect candidates to have the necessary language skills to allow them to carry out their proposed project. Candidates must be under the age of 36. U.S. citizenship is not a requirement, but candidates must show strong and credible ties to U.S. society. / Apply by May 31, 2023
- American Antiquarian Society Fellowships: The American Antiquarian Society (AAS) maintains a major research library in American history, literature, and culture through 1876 in Worcester, MA. The AAS-NEH fellows are part of a community that includes the AAS staff, area college and university faculty, and the recipients of AAS short-term fellowships (including scholars from all over the U.S. and abroad, Ph.D. candidates, and creative artists and writers producing work for the general public) and other long-term fellows. Twenty-eight months of AAS-NEH fellowship support are available. / Apply by May 31, 2023
- Stacy Lloyd III Fellowship for Bibliographic Study: The Oak Spring Garden Foundation will award one Stacy Lloyd III Fellowship for Bibliographic Study of $10,000 for a two-month fellowship. The aim of the program is to support an outstanding early-career scholar who wishes to conduct bibliographic research in some area related to plants, gardens, and landscapes, and who can articulate the likely contributions of the Oak Spring Garden Library collections to the fulfillment of his/her research objectives. Applicants must be current candidates for a post-graduate degree and spend at least 2 to 8 weeks of the fellowship time working on-site at Oak Spring. / Apply by May 31, 2023
- Eliza Moore Fellowship for Artistic Excellence: The Oak Spring Garden Foundation will award its annual Eliza Moore Fellowship for Artistic Excellence to one outstanding, early-career artist who is developing new works that address plants, gardens, or landscapes in the broad sense. The award includes a $10,000 individual grant and requires a two-to-eight-week stay at Oak Spring. This fellowship will be granted to an artist who shows promise to contribute to a deeper understanding of the natural world, and humankind’s place in it. The Fellow will have time and space to work independently on their own projects during their stay. The only requirement will be to give one 30-minute presentation or Open Studio with time for questions, to Oak Spring staff and any other fellows or residents who might be on site. / Apply by May 31, 2023
- Oak Spring Fellowship in Plant Science Research: The Oak Spring Fellowship in Plant Science Research is awarded to an early-career plant scientist who has completed their undergraduate degree within the past ten years, with preference given to those working in organismal plant biology. Fellows receive a $10,000 individual grant and must complete a 2-8 week stay at Oak Spring Garden. This fellowship will be granted to an exceptional plant scientist whose research shows remarkable promise to contribute to a deeper understanding of organismal plant biology, including plant ecology. / Apply by May 31, 2023
- Oak Spring Fellowship in Plant Conservation Biology: The Oak Spring Fellowship in Plant Conservation Biology is awarded to an early-career practitioner, scholar, or scientist working on issues related to plant and landscape conservation. The award includes a $10,000 individual grant and requires a 2-8 week stay at Oak Spring Garden. Eligible applicants must not be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program. Applicants are expected to show dedication in their work in plant conservation, exceptional promise, good communication skills, and excellence in what they have accomplished or plan to accomplish. / Apply by May 31, 2023
- Emerging Writer Fellowships: The Emerging Writer Fellowships are designed to provide 12 months of uninterrupted time and studio space to write and mentorship with feedback from a nationally established author in their respective genre. Fellows may attend one community creative writing workshop per semester and may attend one Miami Writers Institute workshop in the genre of their manuscript in progress. Applicant must not have published in any genre a book-length work, have a book under contract, or be negotiating a contract either in the United States or abroad by the time the fellowship begins. - Dr. Anne Moses IGNITE Fellowship Program: The Dr. Anne Moses IGNITE Fellowship is a premier, paid fellowship program for passionate young leaders who want to jump-start their public service careers. Every year, IGNITE recruits diverse and passionate leaders in communities across America and provides them with the resources, training, and networks to flex their political power and mobilize women on college campuses to become civically and politically engaged. Fellows are campus organizers and serve as ambassadors for IGNITE’s mission and vision. Fellows are paid an hourly rate of $18/hour for up to 15 hours per week. - Eagleton Science and Politics Fellowship: Rutgers University is offering the Eagleton Science and Politics Fellowship, which will place PhD-level scientists and engineers into New Jersey State legislative or executive offices as science aides for a full-year. Supported by a stipend, selected Fellows will participate in an intensive summer training seminar focused on New Jersey state politics and government. All scientists and engineers with a PhD-level degree can apply and students in their final year of study however, they must complete their defense and all degree requirements by July 1 of the fellowship period.
- Bard Fiction Prize: The Bard Fiction Prize was created to inspire and assist fledgling fiction writers, age 39 and younger, to strive for their artistic goals and offer a vibrant, creative atmosphere in an academic setting. Each year one fellowship is awarded to a promising, emerging American writer. In addition to a $30,000 stipend, the winning Fellow receives an appointment as writer in residence at Bard College for one semester, without the expectation that he or she teach traditional courses. Fellows must give at least one public lecture during their fellowship. Candidates must be US citizens with a published book or novel. / Apply by June 1, 2023
- Carol Emmott Fellowship: The Fellowship offers a 14-month self-guided program for women professionals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership potential in the health field and wish to increase leadership competencies, hands-on experience, and work with exceptional mentors. Each fellow is paired with two hand-selected mentors who are nationally recognized, senior health leaders. Each fellow receives an honorarium to help cover desired professional development enrichment experiences. Additionally, fellows attend four sponsored onsite events that provide a framework for the program. Candidates are nominated by their sponsoring organization; qualified nominees are invited to apply. / Apply by June 1, 2023
- Future Immersion Teacher (FIT) Fellowship: The Future Immersion Teacher (FIT) Fellowship encourages new teachers to enter the field of immersion education and to support current French teachers as they pursue dual-language certifications. The FIT Fellowship will shine a spotlight on academic and professional opportunities that exist within the growing field of French dual language and immersion education and aims to motivate the next generation of language immersion teachers. FIT Fellows receive scholarships of up to $10,000 to pursue graduate degrees and certification programs to prepare them for roles as French immersion teachers. / Apply by June 1, 2023
- Mira Fellowship: Each year the Mira Fellowship accepts a small cohort from across the globe to create compassionate actionable visions for our future. Mid-career professionals are given six months to rethink the world’s most pressing issues and develop actionable plans for change. Fellows receive a creator toolbox, summits, coaching, cohort collaboration, access to up to $5,000 of research funding, and continuing opportunities to network and engage with our alumni and community networks. - Laboratory Leadership Service Fellowship: This 2-year program in Atlanta, GA bridges lab science and public health and teaches fellows how to lead a public health laboratory or program. Fellows conduct cutting-edge research, support rapid response to disasters and disease outbreaks, help investigate emerging health threats and enhance the laboratory systems and practices that are essential for public health. Fellows experience the practical application of laboratory methods to a wide range of contemporary public health problems. Fellows should have PhDs in a laboratory-related discipline or other relevant field and at least 2 years of post-graduate laboratory experience. / Apply by June 1, 2023
- University of British Columbia Fully Funded PhD in Food Science: The University of British Columbia in Canada offers a fully funded PhD in Food Science. Food scientists integrate and apply fundamental knowledge from multiple disciplines to ensure a safe, nutritious, sustainable, and high-quality food supply, and to establish scientifically sound principles that guide policy and regulations pertaining to food on a global scale. All full-time students who begin a UBC-Vancouver PhD program will be provided with a funding package of at least $22,000 for each of the first four years of their Ph.D. The funding package may consist of any combination of internal or external awards, teaching-related work, research assistantships, and graduate assistantships. / Apply by June 1, 2023
- Texas A&M University Fully Funded PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering: Texas A&M University, based in College Station, TX offers a fully funded PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering. The Zachry Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering offers eight areas of specialization within the civil engineering graduate program, ranging from structural engineering to transportation engineering to water resources engineering, and general civil engineering plan. The Department is offering multiple fully supported four-year fellowships for Ph.D. students that provide tuition, fees, stipend, and professional development opportunities. - University of British Columbia Fully Funded PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering: The University of British Columbia, based in Canada and offers a fully funded PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering. This PhD Program is for students interested in pursuing advanced studies and research in Biomedical Technologies, Communications Systems, Computer and Software Systems, Energy Systems, or Micro and Nano Technologies. - Concordia University Fully Funded Master of Computer Science: Concordia University in Canada offers a fully funded Master of Computer Science. This is a thesis-based program. The Master of Computer Science (MCompSc) provides students with an opportunity to broaden their base of knowledge and increase their research capabilities in a specific area of computer science. - University of British Columbia Fully Funded Master of Applied Science in Biomedical Engineering: The University of British Columbia in Canada offers a fully funded Master of Applied Science in Biomedical Engineering. The MASc is a 2-year research-based program. The program trains students in the fundamentals of Biomedical Engineering and provides an extended research experience. The majority of graduate students in the department are offered research assistantships (RAs) by faculty members. RAs may be held in conjunction with Teaching Assistantships (TAs) and some scholarships. - Concordia University Fully Funded Master’s in Theological Studies: Concordia University, based in Quebec, Canada offers a fully funded master’s in Theological Studies. The MA in Theological Studies explores the relationship between religious experience and human society. There are competitive funding packages in the form of awards, teaching, and research assistantships offered at the time of admission to most students to allow them to focus on their research and studies. Students are automatically considered for all entrance graduate awards when they apply to Concordia, provided they meet eligibility criteria. - University of Alaska Fairbanks Fully Funded Master of Science in Mathematics: The University of Alaska Fairbanks, based in Fairbanks, AK offers a fully funded Master of Science in Mathematics. Students in the Master of Science in Mathematics program take courses with either a pure or an applied mathematical emphasis. Most of our graduate students are supported by Teaching Assistantships, which provide a 9-month stipend, health insurance, and tuition for up to 10 credits (e.g. three courses, a full graduate load) per semester. While the stipend amount is set by the College of Natural Science and Mathematics annually, at approximately $18,000.
- Florida International University Fully Funded Master of Science in Music Education: Florida International University, based in Miami, FL offers a fully funded Master of Science in Music Education. The M.S. in Music Education is a research-oriented program designed for practicing music educators. This 30-credit degree program can be completed entirely online or as a hybrid of face-to-face and online courses. The FIU School of Music offers graduate assistantships to exceptional candidates pursuing a Master of Science in Music Education. Students awarded an assistantship will receive full tuition coverage and an additional stipend of $7,500 annually. Assistantships are highly competitive and limited in availability.
- Dalhousie University Fully Funded PhD in Computer Science: Dalhousie University, based in Canada offers a fully funded PhD in Computer Science. The PhD program is designed to focus you on research early, under the mentorship of a thesis supervisor, assisted by a supervisory committee. Students are expected to lead a well-defined component of a wider project and be the prime author in the resulting publications. PhD students making satisfactory progress are fully funded for tuition and school fees, plus a minimum of $18,000 per year for at least four years. This funding commitment includes a requirement to be a teaching assistant for two terms each year. / Apply by June 1, 2023
- Old Dominion University Fully Funded PhD in Computer Science: Old Dominion University, based in Norfolk, Virginia offers a fully funded PhD in Computer Science. The Ph.D. program prepares graduates for research positions in academia or industry. Research is led by their graduate faculty, who have interests in bioinformatics, machine intelligence and data analytics, networks, cybersecurity, web science, digital libraries, data science, parallel algorithms and computing, scientific computing, and stochastic modeling. Most Ph.D. students are guaranteed $18,000 with the possibility of receiving $21,000 with a 100% tuition waiver by a Graduate Research Assistantship, or Graduate Teaching Assistantship. - Tiny Beam Fund Fellowships: The Tiny Beam fund is offering 4-month fellowships for academic researchers interested in the negative impacts of global industrial food animal production – from PhD candidates to senior scholars. All applicants must hold PhD/doctoral degrees or be enrolled in PhD/doctoral programs. Three categories of awards are available ranging from $15,000 to $25,000 and will be awarded twice a year for a spring/summer round and fall/winter round. There are no restrictions as to applicants’ place of residence or citizenship. / Apply by June 1, 2023
- Nantes Institutes for Advanced Study Fellowship Program: The Nantes Institutes for Advanced Study Fellowship Program offers nine-month fellowships in Nantes, France. IAS Nantes awards fellowships to outstanding researchers of all career levels, from postdoctoral researchers to senior scientists. IAS Nantes offers 15 fellowship positions. Applications are expected from the fields of the social sciences and the humanities (SSH) and all research fields. The Fellows will benefit from the IAS’s support and conducive scientific environment, in an interdisciplinary cohort of fellows and close relation to the local research potential. IAS Nantes offers a living allowance, social security coverage, accommodation, a complete workspace, plus coverage of travel expenses. / Apply by June 1, 2023
- Traub-Dicker Rainbow Scholarship: The Traub-Dicker Rainbow Scholarship was established by Peggy Traub and Phyllis Dicker to encourage and support lesbians in their pursuit of higher education. This program provides one-year scholarships of $4,000 to several students graduating from high school or already enrolled in college in any year of study, including graduate school. Scholarships are paid directly to the recipient’s school and are applied toward tuition. The applicants identify as a lesbian and plan to attend a college or university in the United States. There is no minimum GPA requirement. Submissions are judged on academic achievement, community service and leadership, and commitment to impacting LGBTQ issues. / Apply by June 2, 2023
