- Study Scholarships for Foreign Graduates in the Fields of Fine Art, Design/Visual Communication and Film: DAAD scholarships offer graduates the opportunity to continue their education in Germany with a postgraduate or continuing course of study. Foreign applicants who have gained a first university degree in the fields of Fine Art, Design/Visual Communication, and Film are eligible. In this study program, you can complete a Master’s degree/postgraduate degree leading to a final qualification, or a complementary course that does not lead to a final qualification at a state or state-recognized German university of your choice (not an undergraduate course). If you are not a citizen of the United States or Canada, it is usually required that your last degree was obtained in the US/Canada, or you will have received a degree here before your scholarship starts. / Apply by November 11, 2024
- Winston Churchill Fellowships for UK Citizens: The fellowship funds 4-8 weeks of overseas travel to learn from others and bring back knowledge and best practices for the benefit of others in UK professions and communities. Every year we invite applications in 10 different areas of research, or categories. Applicants must be British Citizens and have a British passport when they apply, residents of the UK, and age 18 or older. Each grant is individually calculated and depends on the project, the destination(s), and the duration of travel. - Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellowship Program: The Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellowship Program provides a unique professional development opportunity for accomplished K-12 educators in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) to serve in the national education arena. Fellows spend 11 months working in a Federal agency or a U.S. Congressional office, bringing their extensive knowledge and experience in the classroom to education programs and/or education policy efforts. Einstein Fellows receive a monthly stipend of $8,200 plus other benefits. Minimum 5 years of full-time classroom teaching experience in STEM subjects required. / Apply by November 14, 2024
- Luce/ACLS Early Career Fellowships in China Studies: In cooperation with the Henry Luce Foundation, ACLS has embarked on a three-year bridging initiative to reassess and reconfigure the Luce/ACLS Program in China Studies. Fellowships will support research, writing, and curriculum development. Proposals must reflect an understanding of the contemporary academic and research environment in China. Working knowledge of the Chinese language is required. An applicant must hold a Ph.D. from an institution in the United States or Canada, OR be a US or Canadian citizen/permanent resident with a Ph.D. from any institution. The stipend for short-term fellowships is $15,000 and a maximum of $40,000 for long-term fellowships. - Amelia Earhart Fellowship: Established in 1938 in honor of famed pilot and Zontian, Amelia Earhart, the Amelia Earhart Fellowship is awarded annually to women pursuing PhD/doctoral degrees in aerospace-related sciences and aerospace-related engineering. The Fellowship of US$10,000, awarded to 35 Fellows around the globe each year, may be used at any university or college offering accredited post-graduate courses and degrees in these fields. - Supreme Court Fellows Program: The Supreme Court Fellows Commission selects 4 talented individuals to engage for one year in the work of the Supreme Court of the United States, the Administrative Office of the United States Courts, the Federal Judicial Center, or the United States Sentencing Commission. The program seeks mid-career professionals in law and political science, recent law school graduates, and doctoral degree recipients. Applicants must hold at least one post-graduate degree, at least 2 years of work experience, and familiarity with the judicial process. Fellows receive salaries equivalent to GS-13/1 of the government pay scale at the applicable locality rate, currently $94,796. / Apply by November 15, 2024
- Women’s Law and Public Policy Fellowship Program: The Women’s Law and Public Policy Fellowship Program (WLPPFP) offers Fellowships for public interest lawyers from the United States who are committed to advancing women’s rights throughout their careers. Throughout the Fellowship year, participants gain invaluable experience by working on women’s issues in Washington, D.C. with a public interest organization or governmental agency and by participating in educational and professional development opportunities organized by WLPPFP. The program offers both one-year and two-year fellowship opportunities. Both men and women can apply. - AAUW American Dissertation Fellowships: The purpose of the American Dissertation Fellowship is to offset a women scholar’s living expenses while she completes her dissertation. The fellowship must be used for the final year of writing the dissertation. Open to applicants in all fields of study. Scholars engaged in science, technology, engineering, and math fields or those researching gender issues are especially encouraged to apply. - AAUW International Fellowships: AAUW International Fellowships are awarded for full-time study or research to women who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Fellowships support graduate or postgraduate studies at accredited institutions. Recipients are selected for academic achievement and demonstrated commitment to women and girls. The overwhelming majority return to their home countries to become leaders in government, academia, community activism, the arts, and science. - AAUW Selected Professions Fellowships: AAUW Selected Professions Fellowships provide opportunities for women to pursue graduate and first-professional degrees in architecture, computer and information sciences, engineering, and mathematics, fields where women traditionally have been underrepresented and where the employment outlook and earnings potential are strong. To address the underrepresentation of women of color in promising professions and encourage cultural diversity in these areas, fellowships in business administration, law, and medicine are also available, but only to women of color. - AAUW Community Action Grants: Community Action Grants provide funds to individuals, AAUW branches, and AAUW state organizations as well as local community-based nonprofit organizations for innovative programs or non-degree research projects that promote education and equity for women and girls. Grant projects must have a direct public impact, be nonpartisan, and take place within the United States or its territories. - AAUW American Postdoctoral Research Leave Fellowships: Postdoctoral Research Leave Fellowships provide $50,000 to assist women scholars in obtaining tenure and other promotions by enabling them to spend a year pursuing independent research. The primary purpose of the fellowship is to increase the number of women in tenure-track faculty positions and to promote equality for women in higher education. Tenured professors are not eligible. - AAUW Short-Term Research Publication Grants: AAUW Short-Term Research Publication Grants provide $8,000 for women college and university faculty and independent researchers to prepare research for publication. Time must be available for 8 consecutive weeks of final writing and editing in response to issues raised in critical reviews. These grants can be awarded to both tenure-track and part-time faculty, and new and established researchers. The grants are designed to assist the candidate in obtaining tenure and other promotions. - AAUW Career Development Grants: Career Development Grants provide funding to women who hold a bachelor’s degree and are preparing to advance or change careers or re-enter the workforce in education; health and medical sciences; science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM); or social sciences. Primary consideration is given to women of color and women pursuing their first advanced degree or credentials in nontraditional fields. Grants of $2K – $20K provide support for course work beyond a bachelor’s degree, including a master’s degree, second bachelor’s degree, certification program, or specialized training in technical or professional fields at an accredited U.S. university. - The Lewis and Clark Fund for Exploration and Field Research: The Lewis and Clark Fund encourages exploratory field studies for the collection of specimens and data and to provide the imaginative stimulus that accompanies direct observation. Applications are invited from disciplines with a large dependence on field studies, such as archeology, anthropology, biology, ecology, geography, geology, linguistics, paleontology, and population genetics, but grants will not be restricted to these fields. - Alfred D. Chandler Jr. Travel Fellowships: The purpose of this fellowship is to facilitate library and archival research in business or economic history. Individual grants range from $1,000 to $3,000. Three categories of applicants will be eligible for grants: 1) Harvard University graduate students in history, economics, or business administration, whose research requires travel to distant archives or repositories; 2) graduate students or nontenured faculty in those fields from other universities, in the U.S. and abroad, whose research requires travel to Baker Library and other local archives; and 3) Harvard College undergraduates writing senior theses in these fields whose research requires travel away from Cambridge. / Apply by November 15, 2024
- American Institute of Indian Studies Junior Research Fellowships: AIIS Junior Research Fellowships are available to doctoral candidates at U.S. universities in all fields of study. These grants are specifically designed to enable doctoral candidates to pursue their dissertation research in India. Junior Research Fellows establish formal affiliations with Indian universities and Indian research supervisors. Awards are available for up to 11 months. Non-U.S. citizens may apply as long as they are either graduate students or full-time faculty at colleges and universities in the United States. / Apply by November 15, 2024
- American Institute of Indian Studies Senior Fellowships: Senior Research Fellowship and Senior Scholarly/Professional Development Fellowships are available to scholars with a PhD or its equivalent. The research grants are designed to enable scholars who specialize in South Asia to pursue further research in India and to establish formal affiliation with an Indian institution. Awards are available for up to 4 months or for 6-9 months. Scholarly/Professional Development is available both to established scholars who have not previously specialized in Indian studies and to established professionals who have not previously worked or studied in India. Awards may be granted for periods of 6-9 months. Non-U.S. citizens may apply as long as they are full-time faculty at colleges and universities in the United States. / Apply by November 15, 2024
- American Institute of Indian Studies Senior Performing and Creative Arts Fellowships: AIIS Senior Performing and Creative Arts Fellowships are available to accomplished practitioners of the performing arts of India and creative artists who demonstrate that studying in India would enhance their skills, develop their capabilities to teach or perform in the U.S., enhance American involvement with India’s artistic traditions or strengthen their links with peers in India. Awards will normally be for periods of up to four months, although proposals for periods of up to nine months can be considered. / Apply by November 15, 2024
- Generation Teach Summer Teaching Fellowship: Generation Teach provides six-week summer teaching fellowships to undergraduate students (freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior) in six cities in Colorado, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. Fellows complete pre-summer preparation and a week of in-person training, learn core instructional strategies, practice key teaching skills, and receive daily coaching from a professional teacher. - Holocaust Studies Visiting Scholar Fellowship: The Mandel Center at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum awards fellowships to candidates working on their dissertations, postdoctoral researchers, and senior scholars. Proposals from scholars in all relevant academic disciplines related to the Holocaust will be considered. Individual awards generally range up to eight consecutive months of residency; a minimum of three consecutive months is required. Stipends range up to $5,000 per month to defray local housing and other miscellaneous living expenses while conducting research in Washington, DC. - Edmond & Lily Safra Center for Ethics Fellowship-In-Residence: The Edmond & Lily Safra Center for Ethics at Harvard University invites applications from a broad range of researchers and practitioners who will work over the year on pressing issues in ethics. Faculty in arts and sciences and professional schools, postdoctoral scholars, practitioners, and researchers from industry, government, and NGOs are eligible to apply. Fellows-in-Residence will be expected to devote the majority of their time to their projects and to participate in regular work-in-progress seminars. - Governor’s Summer Internship: The Governor’s Summer Internship Program (GSIP) introduces Maryland’s best and brightest college students to the challenges and rewards of working within state government. Fellows are paid a stipend of $3,500 for their participation in the program which runs from June to August. Fellows are placed at a government agency full-time under the mentorship of a senior-level professional, researching and preparing a policy analysis and recommendation to present to the Governor. - Sondheim Nonprofit Leadership Program: The Sondheim Nonprofit Leadership Program introduces Maryland’s undergraduate and graduate students to the nonprofit sector. Fellows are paid a stipend of up to $3,500 for their participation in the program which runs each summer from late May until August. Fellows are placed at a nonprofit organization full-time under the mentorship of a senior-level professional as they learn about the functions of nonprofits and examine community needs and social challenges. They also work together in groups to put their knowledge and skills into practice, researching a challenge impacting Maryland and designing an innovative way to address it. / Apply by November 15, 2024
- Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) Fellows Program: The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) Fellows Program exposes Maryland’s college students to careers in the state sector within Maryland’s integrative transportation system. Fellows of all majors are placed in full-time assignments in one of MDOT’s units and mentored by senior-level administrators. With the knowledge gained at their placements, and through seminars, trips, and networking, fellows research and create a proposal to solve a transportation challenge. - Career Bridging Grants: The Technical University (TU) of Darmstadt in Germany offers financial support (between 1.800 € and 2.100 €) for initially 6 months up to 12 months during transition phases (PhD to postdoc, postdoc to postdoc, and postdoc to junior research group leader). Eligible early career researchers have a prior understanding of research topics etc, with a TU professor and strive to continue at TU Darmstadt with external research funds they have acquired themselves or plan to join in TU with such funding. Muskie Professional Fellowship Program is a professional development program funded by the U.S. Department of State that provides emerging leaders of the Fulbright Program from Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia with the opportunity to gain real-world experience complementing and enriching their graduate studies in the United States.
