- University of Michigan Fully Funded Joint PhD in Social Work and Social Science: The University of Michigan based in Ann Arbor, MI offers a fully funded Joint PhD in Social Work and Social Science. Students earn an interdisciplinary degree in Social Work and one of four social science fields. Joint PhD students reflect the populations they serve and address society’s challenging issues through scientifically rigorous social and behavioral research. The Joint Program in Social Work and Social Science provides all incoming doctoral students with a multi-year funding package. They combine fellowship awards, graduate student research assistant positions, and graduate student instructorships to offer most students five years of full funding, which includes tuition, and stipends. / Apply by November 18, 2024
- USIP Peace Scholar Fellowship Program: Each year, the United States Institute of Peace awards approximately 18 Peace Scholar Fellowships to students enrolled in U.S. universities who are researching and writing doctoral dissertations on topics related to international conflict management, peacebuilding, and related security studies. Applications from members of groups traditionally under-represented in the fields of international relations, peace and conflict studies, security studies, and other related academic disciplines, as well as diplomacy and international policymaking, are strongly encouraged. Fellowships last for 10 months, starting in September. Peace Scholar Awards are currently set at $20,000 for 10 months and are paid directly to the individual. / Apply by November 20, 2024
- University of Toronto Fully Funded PhD Programs in Public Health: The University of Toronto in Canada offers fully funded PhD Programs in Public Health. There are 4 PhDs offered including biostatistics, epidemiology, occupational & environmental health, and social & behavioral health sciences. All tracks include core courses to build a solid foundation in public health understanding and philosophy before diving deeper into the specialization. Collaboration in the Dalla Lana School of Public Health is encouraged and students will also have access to the faculty and resources of the University of Toronto. PHS ensures a minimum threshold of funding to Ph.D. students, registered in years 1-5, according to the Ph.D. Funding Policy for Ph.D. Students. / Apply by November 22, 2024
- Janssen Fellowship in Translational Neuroscience Research: The Paul Janssen Fellowship is awarded to an outstanding young physician-investigator (M.D. or Ph.D.) to conduct novel translational research in neuroscience related to psychiatric disease and medicine. The Paul Janssen Fellow will be assigned both a basic scientist mentor and a clinical investigator mentor from the faculty at Columbia University to serve as joint mentors. The fellow will take a basic observation made by the basic science mentor and apply it to the study of disease or treatment with the clinical research mentor. The award provides a stipend, commensurate with experience. This one-year fellowship program is potentially renewable for a second year based on performance. / Apply by November 22, 2024
- Mahindra Humanities Center Postdoctoral Fellowships: The Mahindra Humanities Center invites applications for one-year postdoctoral fellowships on the topic of the environmental humanities, drawn from any humanistic discipline. In the broadest terms, the environmental humanities include all parts of the world and historical eras. Topics may include (but are not limited to) humanistic approaches to climate change, biodiversity, social justice, environmental justice, food justice, regenerative practices, gardening, landscape, urban foraging, health, and animal studies. Fellows will receive stipends of $70,000, medical insurance, additional research support of $2,500, and $1,500 in moving expenses. Fellows are expected to be in residence at Harvard for the fellowship term. / Apply by November 22, 2024
