  • Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Humanities: The Wolf Humanities Center awards five (5) one-year Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowships each academic year to scholars in the humanities who are no more than five years out of their doctorate. Preference will be given to candidates not yet in tenure track positions whose proposals are interdisciplinary, who have not previously enjoyed the use of the resources of the University of Pennsylvania, and who would particularly benefit from and contribute to Penn’s intellectual life. The Wolf Humanities Center is keen to support projects that contribute to the dismantling of all forms of racial, gender, and other discrimination as they exist within the humanities. The Fellowship appointment carries a stipend of $65,000 plus a $3000 research fund and health insurance. / Apply by November 3, 2024

 

  • Artist Trust Fellowship: Artist Trust Fellowships are designed to recognize artistic achievement, dedication to an artistic discipline, and potential for further professional development. 8 grants at $10,000 each will be awarded in Music, Media, Literary, and Craft disciplines are awarded in even-numbered years, and Emerging Fields & Cross-Disciplinary, Performing, Visual, and Traditional & Folk Arts in odd-numbered years. Applicants must be practicing artists, age 18 or older by the application deadline date, generative artists, and a resident of Washington State at the time of application and when the award is granted. / Apply by November 4, 2024

 

  • Strategic Data Project Fellowship: The Strategic Data Project Fellowship (SDP) is a paid two-year program at Harvard University that places and develops talented data strategists in partner agencies where they can have an immediate impact on policy decisions that affect student outcomes. Fellows receive a rich complement of professional development designed to boost skills and knowledge in three key areas: measurement and analysis, leadership and change management, and education policy. Requirements include an advanced degree (Master’s level or higher), strong quantitative/analytic skills, 3+ years of work experience, and a demonstrated passion for education reform. / Apply by November 4, 2024

 

  • Harry Ransom Center Research Fellowships: The Ransom Center will award 10 dissertation fellowships and up to 50 postdoctoral fellowships for projects that require the substantial on-site use of its collections. The collections support research in all areas of the humanities, including literature, photography, film, art, the performing arts, music, and cultural history. There are 1 to 3-month fellowships for independent and postdoctoral scholars, travel stipends for short-term visits, and dissertation fellowships available at the center. Applicants from any nation are eligible and visa support will be given to international applicants. / Apply by November 4, 2024

 

  • Weatherhead Fellowships: The School for Advanced Research provides a platform for wide-ranging scholarly research and lectures on prehistory, contemporary social issues, and the creativity of Native American artists. SAR offers 9-month residential fellowships for scholars in the humanities or social sciences. Scholars with doctorates who plan to write their books and PhD candidates who plan to write dissertations are eligible. Fellows receive a stipend ($40,000 for doctoral-level scholars and $35,000 for PhD candidates) and housing and office space on the SAR campus. / Apply by November 4, 2024

 

  • ASA Doctoral Dissertation Research Improvement Grants (ASA DDRIG): The ASA Doctoral Dissertation Research Improvement Grants (ASA DDRIG) program supports theoretically grounded empirical investigations to advance understanding of fundamental social processes. Up to 25 awards of a maximum of $16,000 will be given each year. Any doctoral student at an institution accredited with a campus in the U.S. working on a scientifically rigorous project grounded in sociology and helping advance sociology is eligible to apply. Proposals must be submitted by a research scholar with support from a research sponsor. Grant funds can be used for costs directly associated with conducting research including living expenses and dependent care. / Apply by November 4, 2024

 

  • Wenner-Gren Fellowship in Anthropology and Black Experiences: The purpose of the Wenner-Gren Fellowship in Anthropology and Black Experiences is to expand the anthropological conversation and build capacity in anthropology as a career and field of study, amplifying perspectives previously underrepresented in the discipline. Applicants are Doctorates in Anthropology and Related Fields, and Independent Scholars. The successful applicant is welcome to spend the 9-month fellowship term with a cohort of scholars at SAR’s residential campus in Santa Fe, the program also considers participating through a combination of remote gatherings and an in-person residency of several weeks. Fellows receive a stipend of $50,000 over 9 months. / Apply by November 4, 2024

 

  • Science for Development Fellowship: The USAID has established the Science for Development Fellowship program as a two-year immersive professional development opportunity for American scientists and engineers to apply their technical knowledge and research skills to inform and enhance the U.S. government’s international development activities. Fellows work on critical international development issues in areas such as global health, food security, humanitarian assistance, economic growth, water and sanitation, climate change, environment, and energy. It welcomes postdoctoral (or master’s in engineering) applicants across a broad range of STEMM disciplines (science, technology, engineering, math, medicine), including social sciences.   • RWJF Health Policy Fellows: The RWJF Health Policy Fellows program seeks to build and maintain strong and diverse leadership and a workforce skilled in health policy. Fellows have the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with key players in federal health policy and use that leadership experience to improve health, health care, and health policy. Since 1973, this non-partisan fellowship has offered direct, hands-on policy experience with the most influential congressional and executive offices in the nation’s capital to exceptional mid-career health professionals, behavioral/social scientists, and others with an interest in health and health care. / Apply by November 5, 2024

 

  • Chevening Scholarships and Fellowships: Chevening offers a unique opportunity for future leaders, influencers, and decision-makers from all over the world to develop professionally and academically, network extensively, experience UK culture, and build lasting positive relationships with the UK. The program provides full or partial funding for full-time courses at the postgraduate level, normally a one-year Master’s degree at any UK University. To be eligible for a Chevening Award you must be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country; return to your country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after your award has ended, and apply to three different eligible UK university courses. / Apply by November 5, 2024

 

  • DOE Office of Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) Program: The SCGSR program provides supplemental awards to outstanding U.S. graduate students to pursue part of their graduate thesis research at a Department of Energy (DOE) laboratory in areas that address scientific challenges central to the Office of Science mission. The award period for the proposed research project at DOE laboratories may range from 3 to 12 consecutive months. Awardees are eligible to receive a monthly stipend in the amount of up to $3,600 for general living expenses. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Aliens. / Apply by November 6, 2024

 

  • SBE Postdoctoral Research Fellowships (SPRF): The goal of the SBE Postdoctoral Research Fellowship (SPRF) program is to promote fundamental research in the Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences; enhance the participation of underrepresented groups in science and engineering; provide an opportunity for independence and advanced training under the direction of a sponsor; and encourage doctoral-level scientists (who are not yet in full-time positions) to take advantage of the two-year fellowship to prepare for scientific careers in academia, industry or private sector, and government. Support may be requested for up to 24 months at a level of $69,000 per year and may be prorated accordingly. / Apply by November 6, 2024

 

  • National Academy of Education/Spencer Postdoctoral Fellowship: The National Academy of Education/Spencer Postdoctoral Fellowship Program supports early career scholars working in critical areas of education research. This nonresidential postdoctoral fellowship funds proposals that make significant scholarly contributions to the field of education. The program also develops the careers of its recipients through professional development activities involving National Academy of Education members. Fellows receive $70,000 for one academic year of research, or $35,000 for each of two contiguous years, working half-time. / Apply by November 7, 2024

 

  • Postdoctoral Research Fellowship & Career Development Award Program: The A.P. Giannini Foundation funds innovative research that advances the translation of biomedical sciences into treatments, preventions, and cures for human diseases. The Fellowship & Career Development Award Program supports innovative research in the basic sciences and applied fields and trains fellows to become established investigators and to pursue scientific leadership positions in academia, industry, public, and non-traditional career pathways. Physician-scientists and junior researchers with 3-36 months of postdoctoral research experience are invited to apply. Stipends start at $70,000/year. / Apply by November 7, 2024

 

  • GEM MS Engineering and Science Fellowship Program: The goals of the GEM fellowships are to increase the number of underrepresented minority students pursuing graduate degrees in engineering and science and to promote the benefits of a graduate degree within the industry. GEM MS Engineering and Science Fellows receive a $4,000 living stipend per full-time semester up to 4 semesters ($8K per academic year – 3 quarters), up to two paid summer internships with a GEM Employer Member, and full tuition and fees provided by a GEM University Member. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents. Apply by October 1 for early consideration. / November 8, 2024

 

  • GEM PhD Engineering and Science Fellowship: This program aims to increase the number of underrepresented minority students who pursue doctoral degrees in the engineering and natural science disciplines. Successful applicants will receive: a $16,000 stipend in the first academic year of the GEM Fellowship followed by a university-provided living stipend for the remaining years of the Ph.D., a minimum of one paid summer internship with a GEM Employer Member,  and full tuition and fees at a GEM University Member. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and be members of under-represented groups in science and engineering as defined by the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics.   • Killam Postdoctoral Research Fellowships: The goal of the Killam Postdoctoral Research Fellowships program is to bring outstanding scholars from around the world to the University of British Columbia to engage in innovative research that will enhance interdisciplinary collaborations and help establish them in leadership positions in the academic and wider community. Applicants must have completed all requirements of their PhD no more than 24 months before the anticipated fellowship start date. Fellows receive an annual stipend of $60,000 for a maximum of two years. / Apply by November 8, 2024
