  • East-West Center Summer Young Professionals Program: The East-West Center offers a semester each semester for undergraduate and graduate students and recent graduates to gain first-hand training experience at a US-Indo-Pacific research and education organization in Washington, DC. Applicants typically have a strong interest in US-Indo-Pacific relations. They may be studying international relations, Asia studies, international economics, international political economy, public policy, international business, or other similar areas of study. Full-time participation comes with a $2,000/month stipend. Stipends are prorated for part-time participation and may count as university credits if your school permits. Applicants outside DC are welcome, but residence in the DC metro area is preferred. / Apply by October 13, 2024

 

  • Stigler Center Journalists in Residence Program: The Stigler Center Journalists in Residence Program provides a transformative learning experience for journalists working in all forms of media around the world who are interested in deepening their understanding of the interactions between politics and the economy. Participants spend approximately 12 weeks on the Hyde Park campus, auditing classes, participating in Stigler Center events, collaborating with peers, and networking with the university’s scholars. The program offers exclusive seminars, and opportunities to study with world-class faculty. Reimbursement for economy-class airfare and a stipend* of $14,000 to cover living expenses over the 12-week program. / Apply by October 13, 2024

 

  • Luce Scholars Program: The Luce Scholars Program is a nationally competitive fellowship program. It was launched by the Henry Luce Foundation in 1974 to enhance the understanding of Asia among potential leaders in American society. The program provides stipends, language training, and individualized professional placement in Asia for 15-18 Luce Scholars each year, and welcomes applications from college seniors, graduate students, and young professionals in a variety of fields who have had limited exposure to Asia. Candidates must be U.S. citizens up to age 30, and candidates must be nominated by one of 75 participating colleges and universities.   • Jefferson Science Fellowship (JSF): Tenured, or similarly ranked, academic scientists, engineers, and physicians from U.S. institutions of higher learning, who are U.S. citizens, are eligible for the JSF program. Each Fellow will spend one year at the U.S. Department of State or the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) for an on-site assignment in Washington, D.C. that may also involve extended stays at U.S. foreign embassies and/or missions. All JSF assignments will be designed in consultation with regional and/or functional bureaus within the U.S. Department of State/USAID. Fellows receive a stipend of up to $55,000 and travel funds may be provided. / Apply by October 15, 2024

 

  • Smithsonian Institution Fellowships: Through the Smithsonian’s flagship fellowship program, graduate, pre-doctoral, and post-doctoral students – as well as conservationists and senior scholars – have the opportunity to delve into independent research and study across an incredible range of disciplines at the largest museum in the world. The Smithsonian Institution Fellows have access to unparalleled collections, world-class scholars, and state-of-the-art facilities to explore science, art, history, and culture. These opportunities last three to twelve months, or ten weeks, for the Graduate Student Fellowship; stipends are $10,000 to $57,000. Postdoctoral applicants in Science may apply for up to 24 months. / Apply by October 15, 2024

 

  • Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute Short-term Fellowships: The Smithsonian Tropical Research Institution (STRI) in Panama allows selected candidates to come to STRI year-round and is an excellent resource to provide support for graduate students and introduce them to tropical research. Although focused primarily on graduate students, awards are occasionally given to undergraduate and postdoctoral candidates. These fellowships enable selected candidates to work in the tropics and explore research possibilities at STRI. Fellowships may provide a modest stipend to cover living expenses while at STRI (currently $1,250/month). / Apply by October 15, 2024

 

  • Thouron Award: The Thouron Award is a graduate exchange program between British universities and the University of Pennsylvania, conceived to reinforce the “special relationship” between the U.S. and the U.K. Graduates of British universities receive support for up to two years for a graduate (post-graduate) degree program at the University of Pennsylvania. Graduates of Penn receive up to two years of support for a degree program at any graduate (post-graduate) program in the U.K. Thouron Scholars are chosen both for their strong academic potential and their “ambassadorial qualities.” Students receive full support – tuition and generous stipends. / Apply by October 15, 2024

 

  • U-M African Presidential Scholars Program (UMAPS): The University of Michigan (U-M) African Presidential Scholars (UMAPS) program brings early career faculty from universities in Ghana, Liberia, South Africa, and Uganda to Ann Arbor for residencies lasting up to six months. Scholars are paired with a faculty mentor during their stay and have full access to U-M’s resources to further their work on a research project, an academic degree, publications, grant proposal, or other relevant activity. The program supports the development of the next generation of African scholars by integrating them into international academic networks, and it internationalizes U-M by generating research and teaching collaborations across diverse disciplines, from engineering to African literature.   • Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation: The Africa Prize encourages ambitious and talented sub-Saharan African engineers from all disciplines to apply their skills to develop scalable solutions to local challenges, highlighting the importance of engineering as an enabler of improved quality of life and economic development. Crucial commercialization support is awarded to a shortlist of innovative applicants through six months of training and mentoring. Following this period of mentorship, finalists are invited to present at an event held in Africa and a winner is selected to receive £25,000 along with runners-up, who are each awarded £10,000. / Apply by October 15, 2024

 

  • Cansbridge Fellowship: The Cansbridge Fellowship seeks to build future leaders through a program that fosters growth through creating new ideas and using a powerful network for change. Leaders and entrepreneurs who think outside the box and who have a past as risk-takers are invited to apply. The fellowship includes international work experience in Asia, a conference in San Francisco, and access to the Cansbridge Global Network. Applicants must be undergraduates currently enrolled in a Canadian college or university and pursuing a degree in business, science, design, or technology. / Apply by October 15, 2024

 

  • Smithsonian Biodiversity Genomics Postdoctoral Fellowship Program: The Smithsonian Institution Postdoctoral Fellowship in Biodiversity Genomics promotes collaborative research in these fields involving comparative genomic approaches such as phylogenomics, population genomics, metagenomics, or transcriptomics, and has a component that involves significant bioinformatics analysis. Applicants must propose to conduct research in-residence for a period of 12 to 24 months and have completed or be near completion of the Ph.D. Applicants of any citizenship are encouraged to apply, but research projects must be in English. A stipend of $48K per year is provided plus additional research allowances of up to $4K. / Apply by October 15, 2024

 

  • Smithsonian Postgraduate/Postdoctoral Fellowships in Conservation of Museum Collections Program: This fellowship program is offered by the Smithsonian Institution to provide opportunities for recent graduates of masters programs in art and archaeological conservation or the equivalent or conservation scientists, including those at the postdoctoral level, who wish to conduct research and gain further training in Smithsonian conservation laboratories for conservation of objects in museum collections. Fellowships are for 1-year and stipends are provided but vary depending on the degree held by the fellow. Citizens of any country are invited to apply but applications must be written in English. / Apply by October 15, 2024

 

  • Hench Post-Dissertation Fellowship: The purpose of the Hench post-dissertation fellowship is to provide the recipient with time and resources to extend research and/or revise the dissertation for publication. Applicants may come from such fields as history, literature, American studies, political science, art history, music history, and others relating to American history through 1876. Fellows are offered opportunities for collegiality with and mentoring from the staff, other visiting fellows, and the academic community in and near Worcester, Massachusetts. This year-long residential fellowship includes a stipend of $40,000 and also offers up to $4,000 in health insurance reimbursement. / Apply by October 15, 2024

 

  • The Consortium MBA Fellowships: The Consortium fosters a network of the country’s best students, leading Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs and corporate partners. Each year, The Consortium awards merit-based, full-tuition fellowships to top MBA candidates who have a proven record of promoting inclusion in school, in their jobs or in their personal lives. It is renewable for the second year, given that you complete the first year in good academic standing. To be eligible for a Consortium membership and fellowship, you must be a U.S. citizen/permanent resident, have a bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited institution, and demonstrate commitment to The Consortium’s mission.   • Louisville Institute Postdoctoral Fellowship: The Louisville Institute Postdoctoral Fellowship (PostDoc) provides early career theological educators with vocational and professional formation through a two-year visiting professorship, usually in placements at ATS-accredited seminaries, colleges, or universities in the United States and Canada. Fellows come from diverse fields such as history, systematic and practical theology, pastoral studies, social sciences, ethics, or biblical studies, or bring interdisciplinary approaches to their scholarship. The Postdoctoral Fellowship provides a stipend of $30,000 for each of the two years, as well as insurance, housing, and moving benefits / Apply by October 15, 2024

 

  • Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC) Fellowships: The Smithsonian Environmental Research Center offers a variety of fellowship opportunities to graduate and postgraduate students. Scientists at the SERC conduct environmental research in temperate, tropical, and polar ecosystems across the globe. The SERC community recognizes the value of diversity in promoting innovative science and creative solutions, and candidates are strongly encouraged from all backgrounds to apply. Three types of fellowships are Graduate Student Fellowships, Predoctoral Fellowships, and Postdoctoral Fellowships that can support graduate and postdoctoral research. The appointment term is 10 weeks to 1 year providing stipends and other benefits.   • Stanford Humanities Center Mellon Fellowship of Scholars in the Humanities: The Mellon Fellowship of Scholars in the Humanities program is a unique opportunity for recent PhD recipients in the humanities to develop as scholars and teachers. Up to four fellowships will be awarded for a two-year term. Fellows teach two courses per year in one of Stanford’s humanities departments or interdisciplinary programs, where they will be provided office space and a faculty mentor. Program admissions focus on selected fields of scholarship in each application year. Applicants are invited to apply for fellowships in fields where their work has demonstrable relevance to teaching and research in the designated Stanford department.   • FENS/IBRO-PERC Exchange Fellowships Programme: The FENS/IBRO-PERC Exchange Fellowships Programme supports early career researchers and intra-European mobility, with a set goal of advancing neuroscience research and training in Europe. Applicants should be Master’s or Ph.D. neuroscience students or early postdoctoral fellows currently studying or working in Europe, and applicants should be members of a FENS society, individual FENS members, or members of an IBRO member organization in the Pan-Europe region. The maximum Grant Amount is EUR 4,000. Funds may be used for travel and local expenses during the laboratory exchange. / Apply by October 15, 2024

 

  • Mathematical Sciences Postdoctoral Research Fellowships: The purpose of the Mathematical Sciences Postdoctoral Research Fellowships (MSPRF) is to support future leaders in mathematics and statistics by facilitating their participation in postdoctoral research environments that will have a maximal impact on their future scientific development. There are two options for awardees: Research Fellowship and Research Instructorship. Awards will support research in areas of mathematics and statistics, including applications to other disciplines.   • NSF Graduate Research Fellowship: The purpose of the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) is to ensure the quality, vitality, and diversity of the scientific and engineering workforce of the United States. A goal of the program is to broaden participation of the full spectrum of diverse talents in STEM.   • Max Weber Fellowships: Max Weber fellowships are designed for junior post-docs who would like to pursue an academic career, concentrate on their research, and enhance their academic practice in a multidisciplinary environment. Max Weber Fellowships are for 1 or 2 years and are open to candidates who have received a doctorate in the social sciences (economics, law, political science, sociology, history, and related fields) within the last 5 years. 55-60 fellowships are awarded annually.   • CHLI Global Leaders Internship Program: During the Fall and Spring semesters, selected college students complete a paid internship in congressional and corporate offices to strengthen their understanding of public policy while interacting with top leaders in the nation. This semester-long internship affords’ rising Hispanic and Latino college students invaluable knowledge and skills while laying a foundation of contacts for their future. CHLI Global Leaders are welcomed to the CHLI Alumni Association where they can continue benefitting from their experience after completing the program. / Apply by October 18, 2024

 

  • David A. Winston Health Policy Fellowship: The David A. Winston Health Policy Fellowship is a distinguished twelve-month postgraduate program in Washington, DC. The first portion of the year is a planned rotation of at least two months during which Fellows will have appointments to interact with key public and private sector leaders in healthcare. During the remaining months, the Fellows will work full-time on Capitol Hill or the Executive Branch with the guidance of the Winston Board of Directors, comprised of crucial healthcare policymakers. The Fellowship provides a salary and stipends for various expenses related to the Fellowship. Winston also offers a Scholarship Program that recognizes student excellence and achievement based on that student’s record and recommendations from faculty and colleagues; up to 20 $10,000 Scholarships are available. These programs are open to Masters students enrolled in an accredited college or university. / Apply by October 18, 2024

 

  • Laurance S. Rockefeller Visiting Faculty Fellowships: Visiting faculty fellows devote an academic year in residence at Princeton to research and writing about topics involving human values in public and private life. This full-time visiting program is open to scholars in all disciplines provided their research plans qualify. In recent years fellows have been drawn from fields including philosophy, political theory, literature, history, classics, economics, and law. Fellows are expected to reside in or around Princeton and to be active contributors to the intellectual life of the Center. Fellows normally receive stipends of up to one-half of their academic-year salaries. / Apply by October 18, 2024

 

  • Stanford Science Fellows Program: The Stanford Science Fellows Program provides opportunities for exceptionally qualified early-career scientists to develop academic leadership skills focused on fostering scientific discovery, acquire interdisciplinary approaches to foundational scientific research, and broaden science communication skills. Candidates are sought who intend to pursue experimental and/or theoretical research in any natural science discipline. Fellows will hold primary appointments in an academic unit in any participating school appropriate to their research interests. Stanford Science Fellow appointments are for a three-year term. Fellows will receive an annual stipend of $88,000, benefits, up to $8,000 per year of supplemental funds, and up to $2,000 in relocation expenses. International scholars are eligible to apply.
