Alaska Sea Grant Fellowships

Alaska Sea Grant

The state fellowship program is modeled after the highly successful Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship. It offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in planning and implementing marine resource policies and programs in Alaska. The program matches highly motivated graduate students and recent graduates with hosts in Alaska-based organizations or agencies for a paid 12-month fellowship. Students who are close to completing their graduate degree or those who have earned a graduate degree within two years of the application deadline in a relevant discipline can apply. For fellowships beginning in 2024, the stipend for the twelve-month assignment will be $60,000 (~$5,000/month). Additionally, there will be funds available to cover travel for fellowship-related activities.
