APHL-CDC Food Safety Laboratory Fellowship

Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL)

The APHL-CDC Food Safety Laboratory Fellowship trains and prepares scientists for careers in public health and/or state agriculture laboratories and supports the surveillance of foodborne pathogens and safety of the human food supply. The program provides high-quality, cross-disciplinary training for the fellow and workforce capacity to the host lab. Fellows apply their skills to a range of public health problems and gain experience in areas such as regulatory food testing, genomic characterization of enteric pathogens, foodborne pathogen outbreak detection, and food laboratory accreditation.
