The APHL-CDC Informatics Fellowship prepares emerging public health professionals for careers in laboratory informatics. This on-the-job training provides fellows with the experience needed to become responsible stewards of data and ensures the advancement of the interoperable laboratory. The program provides a high-quality, cross-disciplinary training experience for the fellow while providing workforce capacity to APHL member public health laboratories. Fellows apply their skills and interests to address the urgent need for enhanced informatics capabilities in public health laboratories.
