Duke University based in Durham, North Carolina offers a fully funded PhD in Religion Studies. The Ph.D. program features 10 fields of study (also called tracks). These are American Religion, Asian Religions, Christian Theological Studies, Early Christianity, Hebrew Bible/Old Testament, History of Judaism, Islamic Studies, New Testament, Religion and Modernity, and World Christianity. Students entering directly from an undergraduate program should not expect to complete the Ph.D. program in fewer than 6 years.
