The Folger Institute offers long-term fellowships for scholarly and public humanities research and short-term fellowships for both scholarly and artistic research that enriches and expands our understanding of the early modern world. The researchers share cognate interests in the history and literature, art and performance, philosophy, religion, and politics of the early modern world. Short-term applicants have the option to apply for an onsite, completely virtual, or hybrid fellowship. Applicants for long-term fellowships must hold a Ph.D. Folger fellowships are open to scholars of any nationality.
