Georgetown University, based in Washington DC offers a fully funded PhD in Arabic and Islamic Studies. The PhD program offers advanced training in the disciplines of Arabic Linguistics, Arabic Literature (Modern and Classical), and Islamic Studies (Intellectual History, Theology, and Law) with an emphasis on the close reading and interpretation of primary sources, whether linguistic or textual, modern or classical. All PhD students are considered for funding. Teaching Assistantship Scholarship offers an annual stipend scholarship, a full tuition scholarship for nine credits per semester, and health insurance for five consecutive years.
