Stanford University, based in Stanford, California offers a fully funded PhD in Communication. The Ph.D. program prepares students to conduct original research on communication processes, their origins, and their psychological, political, and cultural effects. Most doctoral graduates enter academic teaching and research careers, or communication-related professions that require research skills. The Department of Communication offers full funding including fellowship stipends or assistantship salary as well as tuition throughout the first 5 years of study.
