The University of Alabama, based in Tuscaloosa, AL offers a fully funded master’s in English. The Department of English offers courses in a wide array of genres, historical periods, and theoretical orientations. Upon completion of their coursework students will be broadly educated in both their chosen specialty and the field of literature in English. Students admitted to the graduate program are guaranteed up to two years of full financial support for the MA. All admitted students qualify for Graduate Assistantships, which include a stipend paid over nine months (currently $14,364), and full payment of up to 15 credit hours of graduate tuition.
