The University of California, based in Los Angeles, CA offers a fully funded PhD in Germanic Languages. All applicants should apply directly to the Ph.D. program. If admitted to the Ph.D. without a master’s degree, students are required to complete the M.A. degree while proceeding toward the Ph.D. Graduate student funding is provided in the form of grants, financial aid, fellowships, traineeships, teaching assistantships, and graduate student researcher appointments. The majority of all graduate student funding is provided by the UCLA Graduate Division.
