The University of California, San Diego offers a fully funded PhD in Bioinformatics and Systems Biology. The Program is organized around two disciplinary tracks that have distinct, yet overlapping, faculty and curricular requirements: Bioinformatics and Systems Biology (BISB) and Biomedical Informatics (BMI). Students indicate their interest in one track but can request a switch at any time during their study. Most students admitted into the BISB Ph.D. Programs are supported by a financial support package that covers tuition and fees, health insurance (UC SHIP), and an annual stipend for living expenses, as long as the student maintains good academic standing and meets university and program requirements.
