The University of Chicago, based in Chicago, Illinois offers a fully funded PhD in French and Francophone Studies. In addition to the primary field in French and Francophone Studies, all of our Ph.D. students create an individual course of study in a secondary field, which can be in second Romance literature or in another discipline. Ph.D. students will be guaranteed to have funding support from the University of Chicago, external sources, or a combination of the two for the duration of their program including Full tuition coverage, an annual stipend, annual premiums for student health insurance, and Student Services Fee.
