The University of South Carolina, based in Columbia, SC offers a fully funded Master’s in History. A deep specialization and faculty expertise in five historical areas: Southern History; Comparative Thematic Curriculum – “Culture, Identity, and Economic Development”; Latin American History + Language; Public History; and History of Science, Technology, and the Environment. Admitted students are generally funded through teaching or research assistantships in their first year.  Subsequent funding is dependent on adequate progress towards a degree but generally covers the two years of the MA program. Assistantships, whether teaching or professional, usually require a commitment of 15-20 hours/week and in 2020-21 paid a stipend of $7625/semester for MA
