The University of Southern California (USC) based in Los Angeles, CA offers a combined fully funded PhD in creative writing and Literature. Students admitted to this program take a series of writing workshops taught by our internationally renowned creative writing faculty. Students apply to the program in one genre only: fiction, nonfiction, or poetry. The Ph.D. program provides dual emphasis in literature and creative writing, culminating in a dissertation that combines critical analysis with creative originality.
