Stanford University based in Stanford, California offers a fully funded PhD in Religious Studies. Religious Studies typically admits three or four doctoral students each year. Students declare an area of specialization in a particular period, topic, or corpus of materials, Faculty can be grouped into American Religions, Buddhist Studies, Islamic Studies, Jewish Texts and Traditions, Late Antiquity, Religion, Ethics, and Philosophy, South Asian Religions, and Individually Designed Program.
