Thomas R. Pickering Undergraduate Foreign Affairs Fellowship

The Washington Center

The Thomas R. Pickering Fellowship Program provides graduate students with financial support, mentoring and professional development to prepare them academically and professionally for a career with the U.S. Department of State. During this two-year program, fellows participate in two internships with the State Department—one in the U.S., the other overseas— and receive personalized mentoring and professional development opportunities. Fellows receive financial support for tuition, room and board, books, mandatory fees and some travel expenses (up to $37,500 annually). You will also receive stipends, housing and travel allowances for the two internship experiences.
