The University of Massachusetts Boston offers a fully funded master’s in American Studies. American Studies is an interdisciplinary field that centers on historically rich and socially-engaged scholarship and teaching. Students complete 30 credits of graduate coursework, including a final project based on original research. The American Studies MA program offers a limited number of teaching assistantships to full-time students. Most graduate assistants work nine hours or more per week during the time they are supported. Assistants receive a stipend in addition to tuition remission and partial fee payment including health insurance.
