The ACLS Leading Edge Fellowships place recent PhDs with nonprofit organizations committed to promoting social justice in their communities through solving problems, building capacity, and advancing equity. Fellows lead substantive projects throughout the US that draw on the skills and capacities honed in the course of earning the humanities PhD, including advanced communication, research, project management, and creative problem-solving. Stipends of $60,000 and health insurance and professional development funding are provided for the duration of the 12-month program. Recent PhDs from the humanities and humanistic social sciences may apply.
