John Hope Franklin Dissertation Fellowship

American Philosophical Society (APS)

The John Hope Franklin Dissertation Fellowship is designed to support an outstanding doctoral student at an American university or an exceptional American doctoral student abroad who is completing the dissertation. Fellow is expected to spend a significant amount of time in residence at the American Philosophical Society Library. Fellows must be admitted to candidacy, have completed all other coursework and be prepared to devote full time for 12 months – with no teaching obligations – to dissertation research and writing. The award is for $25,000 and above.
