Ohio University, based in Athens, OH offers a two-year fully funded Master’s in History. The History Department has two M.A. programs: a thesis option and a non-thesis option. The M.A. program prepares students for a Ph.D. program in history or for a variety of careers, including positions in teaching, government, museum work, or policy research and advocacy. The History Department’s general policy has been to provide an M.A. student with a maximum of four semesters of support. The History Department awards graduate teaching assistantships that carry stipends and tuition waivers. The Contemporary History Institute fellowships it awards to selected graduate students admitted to its program.
