Reading Assist Intervention Corps

Reading Assist Intervention Corps recruits, trains, and embeds AmeriCorps members from around the country willing to commit to a school year of service. Fellows provide accredited one-on-one Reading Assist Intervention Program to struggling readers in kindergarten through third grade in the Wilmington, Delaware, area’s highest-needs elementary schools. They work one-on-one providing instruction to each student for 45 minutes a day, five days a week. Fellows receive a pre-tax living allowance of $1,000 biweekly and healthcare benefits. Upon completion of the program, fellows are eligible for a $4,800 education award, professional certification in reading intervention, and graduate-level college credit.
