The American Prospect’s Writing Fellows Program

The American Prospect’s Writing Fellows Program offers journalists the opportunity to spend 2 years developing their skills with the magazine at its headquarters in Washington, D.C., or remotely. The program provides intensive mentoring with editorial experts and fellows are expected to contribute regularly. A passion for politics and policy is a prerequisite. The Prospect’s goal is to ensure writing fellows can pursue a career in journalism after the fellowship. Prior journalism experience is encouraged but not required. The two-year fellowship pays an annual salary of $46,500 and includes a full range of benefits (health, dental, and vision).
