The University of British Columbia in Canada offers a fully funded Master of Science in Computer Science. There are two choices available to MSc students: the thesis option and the essay option. The two-year period of the master’s first helps students decide whether a research career is the right career choice for them. Full MSc students will be supported amounts to a $20,000 taxable stipend in the first year and a $22,000 taxable stipend in the second year. The funding package consists of any combination of internal or external awards and assistantships. CS students are expected to apply for fellowships or scholarships to which they are eligible.
