Washington University in St. Louis offers a fully funded PhD in Sociocultural Anthropology. The doctoral program has been crafted to facilitate efficient progress from classroom training to designing, funding, and carrying out original ethnographic research. Faculty and doctoral students engage in cutting-edge scholarship across many conceptual themes. Students who are admitted to the program are generally funded with tuition remission and a living stipend (University Fellowship) for 4-6 years, assuming continued high academic performance. Additionally, students are eligible for summer dissertation research travel support which has historically averaged out to approximately $1000 per student.
