  • Professional Fellows Program Oceania: The Professional Fellows Program Oceania (PFP Oceania) is a two-way, global exchange program designed to promote mutual understanding, enhance leadership and professional skills, as well as build lasting, sustainable partnerships between mid-level emerging leaders from the Pacific Islands and the United States (U.S.). The program theme focuses on economic empowerment, exploring how systems can support innovation and sustainable economic development and helping participants build their capacities in growing regional entrepreneurship, business leadership, and workforce development. Fellows will already have a valid J-1 visa and will receive a stipend from Cultural Vistas to cover their living expenses during the fellowship. / Apply by May 19, 2024

 

  • Richard Beeston Bursary Fellowship: The Richard Beeston Bursary provides two £6,000 journalism fellowships annually. One fellowship is for an aspiring British foreign correspondent to spend 6 weeks abroad, researching and reporting a foreign news story for The Times newspaper. The other fellowship is for a young Israeli, Lebanese, or Palestinian journalist to spend six weeks on secondment to The Times in London, England.   • Wellcome Trust Early-Career Awards: The scheme of early-career awards provides funding for early-career researchers from any discipline who are ready to develop their research identity. Innovative projects will deliver shifts in understanding that could improve human life, health, and well-being. By the end of the award, fellows will be ready to lead their independent research program. A Wellcome Early-Career Award provides a salary for the grant holder and up to £400,000 for research expenses. The host organization should be based in the UK, the Republic of Ireland, or low- or middle-income countries (apart from India and mainland China). / Apply by May 21, 2024

 

  • Gulf Research Program: Early-Career Research Fellowships: The Gulf Research Program’s Early-Career Research Fellowship supports emerging scientific leaders as they take risks on research ideas not yet tested, pursue unique collaborations, and build a network of colleagues who share their interest in improving offshore energy system safety and the well-being of coastal communities and ecosystems. The program provides a grant of $76,000 to support the fellow for 2 years of research which can be used to cover costs, salaries, and other professional expenses.   • Mercatus Center Undergraduate Fellowship: The Undergraduate Fellowship is a competitive, renewable fellowship program for undergraduate students at George Mason University. Fellowships are open to full- and part-time degree-seeking Mason students from any discipline interested in studying key ideas in political economy and learning how to utilize these ideas in academics and for policy research. After completing summer training and securing a teaching position at a local school, you will begin teaching full-time, earning a full teacher’s salary.   • ORNL Distinguished Staff Fellowship Program: The ORNL Distinguished Staff Fellowships are 3-year appointments awarded to outstanding early-career scientists and engineers with demonstrated success within their academic, professional, and technical areas, who have high potential to be future science leaders. These highly competitive fellowships are available across various research disciplines, including biology and the environment, clean energy, fusion and fission, isotope science, materials science, national security, neutron science, and supercomputing. Applicants must have received their Ph.D. in a STEM field within the last 5 years. There are multiple application cycles per year. / Apply by May 31, 2024

 

  • Capes-Humboldt Research Fellowship: The Capes-Humboldt Research Fellowship supports Brazilian postdoctoral researchers and experienced researchers with research in Germany. As a fellow, you will benefit from individual support from the Humboldt Foundation and diverse sponsorship portfolios. The Capes-Humboldt Research Fellowship allows Brazilian researchers to conduct their research at various stages of their careers in collaboration with a host at a German research institution of their choice. Host institutes will generally receive a subsidy toward research costs. The fellowship amount is €3,100. Fellowships may last from 6 to 24 months. / Apply by May 31, 2024

 

  • Memorial University Fully Funded Master’s in Modern Languages: The Memorial University of Newfoundland, based in Canada offers a fully funded master’s in Modern Languages. The MA in French Studies specializes in studying the French language as well as francophone culture and literature worldwide. The MA in German Language and Literature may be taken by full-time or part-time study. Memorial University offers competitive funding packages to academically eligible full-time Canadian and international graduate students in all eligible research programs. The award includes a $10,000 individual grant and requires a 2-5 week stay at Oak Spring Garden. Eligible applicants must not be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program. Applicants are expected to show dedication in their work in plant conservation, exceptional promise, good communication skills, and excellence in what they have accomplished or plan to accomplish. / Apply by May 31, 2024

 

  • Oak Spring Fellowship in Plant Science Research: The Oak Spring Fellowship in Plant Science Research is awarded to an early-career plant scientist who has completed their undergraduate degree within the past ten years, with preference given to those working in organismal plant biology.  Fellows receive a $10,000 individual grant and must complete a 2-5 week stay at Oak Spring Garden. This fellowship will be granted to an exceptional plant scientist whose research shows remarkable promise to contribute to a deeper understanding of organismal plant biology, including plant ecology. / Apply by May 31, 2024

 

  • Eliza Moore Fellowship for Artistic Excellence: The Oak Spring Garden Foundation will award its annual Eliza Moore Fellowship for Artistic Excellence to one outstanding, early-career artist who is developing new works that address plants, gardens, or landscapes in the broad sense. The award includes a $10,000 individual grant and requires a two-to-five-week stay at Oak Spring. This fellowship will be granted to an artist who shows promise to contribute to a deeper understanding of the natural world and humankind’s place in it. The Fellow will have time and space to work independently on their projects during their stay. The only requirement will be to give one 30-minute presentation or Open Studio with time for questions, to Oak Spring staff and any other fellows or residents who might be on site. / Apply by May 31, 2024

 

  • Stacy Lloyd III Fellowship for Bibliographic Study: The Oak Spring Garden Foundation will award one Stacy Lloyd III Fellowship for Bibliographic Study of $10,000 for a two-month fellowship. The program aims to support an outstanding early-career scholar who wishes to conduct bibliographic research in some area related to plants, gardens, and landscapes, and who can articulate the likely contributions of the Oak Spring Garden Library collections to the fulfillment of his/her research objectives. Applicants must be current candidates for a post-graduate degree and spend at least 2 to 5 weeks of the fellowship time working on-site at Oak Spring. / Apply by May 31, 2024

 

  • CISE Graduate Fellowships: The Computer and Information Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowships (CSGrad4US) program aims to increase the number and diversity of domestic graduate students pursuing research and innovation careers in computer and information science and engineering fields. The program helps bachelor’s degree holders return to academia and pursue their research interests, enabling them to engage in innovative and high-impact projects without the burden of financial constraints. Each year, a diverse cohort of CSGrad4US fellows is selected based on their demonstrated interest and potential in pursuing a doctorate in a CISE field.   • HBCU Digital Media Fellowship: As part of the HBCU Digital Media Fellowship, up to five students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) will receive hands-on experience during the annual three-day Online News Association Conference which also gives them high-profile exposure and advanced practical knowledge of emerging technologies, tools, and approaches to reporting and distributing news online. Fellows participate in networking and receive training from industry leaders. Supported annually by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, each fellow will receive a free conference registration to ONA and a one-year ONA student membership. / Apply by May 31, 2024

 

  • Carol Emmott Fellowship: The Fellowship offers a 14-month self-guided program for women professionals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership potential in the health field and wish to increase leadership competencies, gain hands-on experience, and work with exceptional mentors. Each fellow is paired with two hand-selected mentors who are nationally recognized, senior health leaders. Each fellow receives an honorarium to help cover desired professional development enrichment experiences. Additionally, fellows attend four sponsored onsite events that provide a framework for the program. Candidates are nominated by their sponsoring organization; qualified nominees are invited to apply. / Apply by June 1, 2024

 

  • PULSE Fellowship: PULSE cultivates a community of young servant leaders to transform Pittsburgh by inviting talented university graduates to partner with Pittsburgh nonprofits for a year of service and leadership. Participants serve in a wide variety of different nonprofits, ranging from the arts to community development, social service, and environmental. Fellows are provided lodging, fully covered utilities, monthly stipends for food and transportation, some reimbursable health insurance expenses, and a monthly personal stipend.   • Bard Fiction Prize: The Bard Fiction Prize was created to inspire and assist fledgling fiction writers, age 39 and younger, to strive for their artistic goals and offer a vibrant, creative atmosphere in an academic setting. Each year one fellowship is awarded to a promising, emerging American writer. In addition to a $30,000 stipend, the winning Fellow receives an appointment as writer in residence at Bard College for one semester, without the expectation that he or she teach traditional courses. Fellows must give at least one public lecture during their fellowship. Candidates must be US citizens with a published book or novel. / Apply by June 1, 2024

  • University of British Columbia Fully Funded PhD in Food Science: The University of British Columbia in Canada offers a fully funded PhD in Food Science. Food scientists integrate and apply fundamental knowledge from multiple disciplines to ensure a safe, nutritious, sustainable, and high-quality food supply, and to establish scientifically sound principles that guide policy and regulations about food on a global scale.
