The AI Futures Fellowship is an eight-week fellowship program that takes place at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) in Mexico City. It is fully funded with a grant of $8,000 for early-career individuals and students. A highly selective group of around 10 fellows will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with mentors who are seasoned professionals in the field of AI research. The main focus of the AI Futures Fellowship is to enhance AI safety and governance by addressing the challenges of managing advanced AI globally.
The Humboldt Professorship is a prestigious award that enables the recipient to conduct innovative, long-term research at universities and research institutions in Germany, contributing to Germany’s global competitiveness in research. The Foundation is committed to promoting gender diversity and encourages more women academics to apply for the Alexander von Humboldt Professorship. The fellowship has a special focus on Artificial Intelligence. Exceptionally qualified world leaders in their fields who are established academics abroad and are eligible for a professorship in Germany can be nominated by German universities. The award provides a total amount of €5 million for five years.
The Borealis AI Fellowships program aims to assist outstanding domestic and international students in achieving their educational goals as they pursue graduate degrees in Machine Learning (ML) or Artificial Intelligence (AI) at a Canadian university. The program provides support for PhD students, enabling them to pursue world-class research. To qualify, applicants must demonstrate exceptional research skills and present a well-crafted research proposal relevant to their graduate degree. Each fellowship carries a monetary award of $10,000.
The Research Fellow at the Center for Security and Emerging Technology will be responsible for developing, proposing, and leading research projects. They will also be monitoring trends and advancements in AI, computing, and national security policy while providing research support and more. The ideal candidate should possess a graduate degree (Master’s, JD, PhD) in a relevant field and hold at least 3 years of progressive experience in research and policy analysis. They should also have familiarity with interpreting and visualizing data. Preferred candidates should be proficient in a foreign language, statistics, and data analysis. Additionally, they should possess research experience in national security and technology policy.
The CISA Cyber Innovation Fellows program provides an opportunity for senior technical experts from the private sector to embed themselves in CISA’s cybersecurity teams. This initiative is designed to benefit both the participants’ professional development and CISA’s growing mission space. The program allows Fellows to help innovate CISA’s approach to cybersecurity while gaining a deeper understanding of the agency’s mission, which will enhance their skills and knowledge. If selected, Fellows will be assigned a position based on their background and qualifications. They will serve on a part-time basis of one to two days per week for a maximum of four months. The Fellows’ private sector employer will be solely responsible for their compensation.

The Eric and Wendy Schmidt AI in Science Postdoctoral Fellowship is a program initiated by Schmidt Futures that seeks to expedite the next scientific revolution by applying AI to research in STEM fields. The program will support around 160 postdoctoral Fellows annually across nine universities worldwide. These Fellows will learn how to use AI techniques to enhance their research. Each university will select a new cohort of up to 20 Fellows yearly for a maximum of six years. The ETH AI Center provides a distinctive fellowship program for doctoral students, aimed at promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and a positive impact on society. Doctoral fellows from different disciplines will be situated together at the ETH AI Center and encouraged to work with faculty and staff from diverse fields. The ETH AI Center also offers an optional entrepreneurial or industry track to support their career path. This fellowship program is designed to provide highly motivated postdoctoral candidates with an excellent track record with the opportunity to conduct impactful research that will shape the future of AI. The program is for two years with a flexible starting date, and the salary is in accordance with the standard salary scale for postdoctoral fellows at ETH Zurich. To be eligible for the program, candidates must hold a PhD in computer science, machine learning, statistics, physics, engineering, applied mathematics, or other relevant AI fields, or should be less than 10 months away from completing their PhD thesis.
The Fellowship in Clinical AI is an exclusive year-long program that runs part-time alongside clinical training for doctors and dentists who are approaching consultancy. This program is designed to train a new generation of leaders in the NHS to harness the power of Artificial Intelligence to transform healthcare. Applicants must hold a National Training Number in a medical or dental specialty training post leading to CCT. There are no restrictions on the specialty for this fellowship. The Fellowship.AI Hands-on Fellowship Program is a fully remote, full-time fellowship program that lasts for three months. It is designed for aspiring machine learning engineers and is completely free of charge. The program is open to citizens of any country that is not embargoed by the United States, except for Australia. Applicants must have a foundational understanding of machine learning theory and methods, basic coding proficiency (especially in Python), and creative problem-solving skills. Although it is fully remote, fellows living in major metropolitan areas are encouraged to organize in-person meetups. The center covers various aspects of the Information Society, including legal, technological, political, and social aspects. The Pulitzer Center Al Accountability Fellowships are designed to support journalists working on in-depth AI accountability stories. These stories specifically examine the ways governments and corporations use predictive and surveillance technologies to guide decisions in policing, medicine, social welfare, the criminal justice system, hiring, and more. Journalists must apply with a reporting project that they wish to pursue during their fellowship. We encourage enterprise and accountability projects that use various approaches, including data analysis, records requests, and shoe-leather reporting, to investigate the real-world impact of algorithms on policy, individuals, and communities. The 10-month fellowship will provide journalists with up to $20,000 to support their reporting project.
