Cornell University Fully Funded PhD Program in Computer Science
Cornell University offers a fully funded PhD program in Computer Science. Cornell focuses on teaching a strong foundation in traditional areas such as theory, programming languages and scientific computing but also offers specializations in artificial intelligence, computer graphics, systems, security, machine learning, and digital libraries. The first year in the program is spent working with the faculty to find the student’s research interests. After deciding on the interest, the student pursues independent research under the guidance of a special committee. All PhD students are offered support for tuition, health insurance and a stipend.
Georgetown University Center for Security and Emerging Technology AI/ML Fellow
The CSET artificial intelligence (AI) / machine learning (ML) Fellow, Senior Fellow, and/or Distinguished Fellow will support the production of research and policy recommendations on the security implications of emerging technologies. The AI/ML Fellow will provide the team with technical subject matter expertise to inform policy discussions, contribute to technical analysis, and conduct research in relevant areas of AI/ML. Candidates must hold at least a Master’s degree (Ph.D. degree and related work experience preferred) in computer science or a related field and must demonstrate an aptitude for tailoring explanations of technical concepts to policy or other audiences.
IHS Discussion Colloquia in Artificial Intelligence, Intersectionality, and Mental Health
IHS Discussion Colloquia are designed for advanced graduate students and faculty members seeking in-depth discussions about specialized topics in the classical liberal tradition. Our Discussion Colloquia utilize a roundtable discussion model and take place over the course of a weekend with about 15 peers, a set of provided readings, and an expert discussion leader. Fellows are provided all materials, accommodations, and meals throughout the duration of the Discussion Colloquia. IHS also offers a generous travel stipend and $500 honorarium. University of Toronto Fully Funded PhD Program in Computer Science
The University of Toronto offers a fully funded PhD program in Computer Science. Students begin by going through the master’s program coursework to build a solid understanding of Computer Science and then decide on a research area to focus on. There are 14 research areas to choose from including options in artificial intelligence, data science and informatics. Once a research focus is decided, PhD students conduct independent research under a research advisor in their specified field of study. Students are provided with full financial support throughout their course of study including tuition payment and a stipend.
Data Science for Social Good Fellowship
The Data Science for Social Good Fellowship is a 13-week summer fellowship at the University of Chicago that provides aspiring data scientists with training, mentorship, and work experience solving key social impact issues in government through data mining, machine learning and big data projects. Fellows receive a fixed stipend of up to $16,000, based on education level. Applications from all education levels and citizenships are accepted. Ideal candidates have some programming, statistics and data analysis skills and are a current student or recent graduate, however, non-students may apply.
Georgetown University Fully Funded PhD Program in Computer Science
Georgetown University offers a fully funded PhD Program in Computer Science. PhD students first complete the coursework of the master’s degree to build a solid foundation in computer science. Once this is complete students choose a concentration in computer and network security, cryptography, information search and retrieval, machine learning, data mining, and natural language processing, networking and distributed systems, or parallel and distributed algorithms. Students conduct independent research in these fields under an advisor to complete the PhD. Doctoral students are fully supported through scholarships and research assistantships.
